Baltimore, USA: Reason for Hope with Dr. Jane Goodall

31 March 2009 (Tue)
12:00 -

The Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall

1212 Cathedral Street
Baltimore, MD 21201
8 pm

Dr. Goodall will speak about her work in Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania where nearly 50 years ago, she began studying our closest relative – the chimpanzee.  This work continues today and Dr. Goodall will talk about the programs that have evolved to conserve the precious forest habitat and to improve the lives of those living in the villages adjacent to Gombe.

She will also speak about the innovative programs of the Jane Goodall Institute, including Roots & Shoots, the humanitarian and environmental program for young people of all ages that she created in 1991.  Now in over 100 countries worldwide, Roots & Shoots gives young people the tools to make a positive difference in society.  As a UN Messenger of Peace, Dr. Goodall will share her reasons for hope in these complex times and offer ways in which every individual can make a difference every day.

Please note that Dr. Goodall’s books as well as Jane Goodall Institute merchandise and memberships will be available for purchase at the event.
