The 2009 PSGB spring meeting will be held on 16 & 17th April 2009 at Bournemouth University.

The theme will be "Form and Function" in which we will explore the link between morphology, behaviour and ecology. Invited keynote speakers will give talks related to the theme topic but other proffered talks will be on any topic of interest to PSGB members.

Confirmed plenary speakers:

  • Prof Robin Crompton from University of Liverpool will talk about reconstruction of the mechanical function of the Laetoli footprint makers.
  • Prof Robin Dunbar from Oxford University.Prof Emeritus Jan A.R.A.M. van Hooff from Utrecht University will discuss facial expression of emotions.
  • Dr Sarah Elton, Senior lecturer in Anatomy at HYMS Hull and University of York.
  • Dr Todd Rae, Senior lecturer at Roehampton University.

Researchers and students are invited to present oral papers and posters on any topic within the broad remit of the society. Please submit an abstract or send any suggestions to the organising committee.

There will also be short skills sessions on topics that may be useful for students (e.g. "presentation skills", "morphometrics"). We would like to encourage others to organise short workshops around the meeting - please contact the organisers if you would like to do so.

Registration at the door will be available but pre-registration is encouraged and will be cheaper than registration at the door: registration forms will be available soon or you can email your interest to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
